Peningkatan Pengetahuan dan Keterampilan Siswa melalui Pelatihan Pembuatan Batik Shibori dengan Teknik Celup Warna

Abstract

Cultural arts education in elementary schools often remains conventional and lacks hands-on experience, which can potentially diminish students' creativity and learning motivation. This community service activity aimed to enhance psychomotor skills, foster an entrepreneurial spirit, and introduce cultural heritage through Shibori batik-making training based on Project-Based Learning. The target participants were 28 sixth-grade B students at UPT SDN 3 Kebonsari. The implementation method consisted of two main stages: a theoretical orientation session and hands-on practice in creating Shibori batik using the Itajime technique. Program success was evaluated using pre-test, post-test, and participant satisfaction questionnaires. The results demonstrated a significant increase in students' understanding. The "Excellent" comprehension category surged from 7.1% in the pre-test to 53.6% in the post-test. Furthermore, the participant satisfaction rate was remarkably high, reaching 64.3%. This training successfully served as an effective learning medium to enhance knowledge of textile arts, train teamwork, and cultivate independent and creative character in alignment with the Pancasila Student Profile.
