Abstract

Education plays a crucial role in developing students' skills and knowledge, especially in history, which is often perceived as boring. The use of engaging and interactive learning media can enhance students' interest in learning. This study aims to analyze the effect of interactive PowerPoint-based learning media on interest in learning history among eleventh-grade social studies students at SMA Negeri 1 Kutowinangun. The research is motivated by low student interest in history learning, which stems from conventional teaching methods that fail to actively engage students. The research method used is quantitative with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consists of 36 students selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires administered to students before and after the use of interactive PowerPoint in the learning process. The hypothesis test results show a significant effect of interactive PowerPoint media on the students' interest in learning history, with a t-test value greater than the t-table value (t-test = 12.07 > t-table = 2.030). Therefore, it can be concluded that interactive PowerPoint media is effective in enhancing students' interest in learning history.
